There can be multiple atoms that have the same number of neutrons, these are called isotopes. The most common isotope of strontium (one of four stable isotopes), is strontium 88. This means that the number of protons and neutrons together in that isotope is 88. And since all atoms of strontium (regardless of their isotope) have 38 protons, that means that the most common isotope of strontium has 50 neutrons.

If you don't know this, just go to Google and look up periodic tables of elements and you should find it there.

How is a strontium atom different from a strontium ion?

An isotope has extra or fewer neutrons in the nucleus than the average number for that element. This may or may not result in a radioactive isotope. An ion has extra or fewer electrons orbiting the nucleus. This usually increases the chemical reactivity.
