Depends on which oil. One gallon of crude oil weighs 7.2 lbs. Olive oil weighs 7.6 Lbs
All the oils that I am aware of have densities lower than the density of water. Hence, a gallon of water will weigh more than a gallon of oil. Oil is less dense than water. Oil of any kind actually floats on water because oil it's chemical makeup. That means that an equal volume of it will weigh less than water. We look at the word "gallon" and think that a gallon of anything is still a gallon. But the question was about weight, not volume! If you took a gallon of water and sat it beside a gallon container of lead, it's obvious the lead would weight more, but both are still a gallon in size. Here are some densities of oils in kg/m3 (water has a density of 1000): Castor oil: 956 Cotton seed oil: 926 California crude oil: 915 Linseed oil: 929 Soybean oil: 926 Whale oil: 925 On a Sidenote: This was the last question posed in the first ever finals of the ABC Television show named Duel with host Mike Greenberg, The Car Salesman lost the chance at 1.8 Million Dollars on his incorrect answer. The weight of a gallon of water is useful to know for fish tank hobbyists. Plain water is usually approximately 8 pounds per gallon.
one gallon= 5 quarts 55 gallon= 5x55=275 answer 275 quarts
4 quarts to a gallon. IF a 55 gallon drum is actually holding 55 gallons, it would be 4x55=220 quarts.

80 qts 1 gallon = 4 quarts 1 quart = 0.25 gallon
Rule of thumb is to replace up to 5 quarts of oil on every oil change. If you change the oil on your own, you can either get 5 individual quarts of oil, or get a jug of oil, which contains 5 quarts.
The industry-standard barrel of oil contains 42 gallons. Since there are four quarts in one gallon: 42 x 4 = 168 quarts per barrel.
4 quarts= 1 gallon, so a bit over a gallon
75 quarts
When I change the oil in my 96 I put in around four quarts. And go with the gallon container that way if your car uses alot of oil then you can add to it and the gallon is the best value.
Oil Capacity for an engine that size should be around 4.5 to 5 quarts. In gallon terms, that would be about 1 gallon of oil or so. However, oil is sold and priced in quarts.
There are 4 qt per gallon SO ...4 qt/gal x 48 gal = 192 qt.
Usually use a 5 quart jug high milage on my 93 legend. Give or take, thats about all it should need.
