The Zuhr prayer consists of four rakats (units of prayer) that are performed after the sun has passed its zenith. It is one of the five daily prayers in Islam and is typically offered in a quiet, contemplative manner. After the four rakats, it is customary to perform two additional sunnah rakats, though these are not obligatory.
During the Day of Arafat, the Zuhr and Asr prayers are combined and performed together. After the time for Zuhr begins, you can pray two rakats of Zuhr, followed immediately by two rakats of Asr. This is typically done in congregation, and it is a significant act of worship for pilgrims during Hajj. It is important to focus on sincerity and devotion during these prayers, especially on this blessed day.
In a day, Muslims perform a total of 17 rakats in their obligatory prayers (Salah). This includes 4 rakats for Fajr, 4 for Dhuhr, 2 for Asr, 3 for Maghrib, and 4 for Isha. Additionally, there are optional prayers (Sunnah and Nafl) that can be performed, but the 17 rakats are the minimum required for the daily prayers.
To perform Asr (afternoon) Salah, first, ensure you are in a state of wudu (ablution). The prayer consists of four rakats (units), which are performed quietly. Begin with the Takbir (saying "Allahu Akbar"), recite Surah Al-Fatiha followed by another surah in each rak'ah, and complete the prayer with the Tashahhud and Tasleem (salutation). It's recommended to pray Asr in its designated time, preferably before the sun begins to set.
The daily prayers, or Salah, in Islam consist of five obligatory prayers, each with a specific number of Rakats. Fajr has 2 Rakats, Dhuhr has 4 Rakats, Asr has 4 Rakats, Maghrib has 3 Rakats, and Isha has 4 Rakats. Additionally, Sunnah and Nafl prayers can be performed before or after these obligatory prayers for extra merit.
Shurooq, or the time for the sunrise prayer, is not associated with a specific number of rakats (units of prayer) like the obligatory prayers in Islam. However, it is common for Muslims to perform two rakats of Sunnah prayer after the sun has fully risen. This is a voluntary prayer and not obligatory.
