Please rephrase your question. Their value depends on their dates and mint marks. Half-dollars dated 1971 and later are made of copper-nickel and are only worth 50¢ Half-dollars from 1965 to 1969 are made of 40% silver and are worth about $2.50, depending on the current price of silver. Half-dollars dated 1964 and earlier are made of 90% silver and are worth at least $6.00 based on the price of silver. Many from the mid-1940s to 1964 are only worth that amount but older ones may be worth more to a collector.

While the price of silver is volatile, lately silver dimes have been going for about $2, quarters for $5 and half-dollars for $10. This is just for silver content though, the numismatic value of some coins are many times greater than their silver bullion content.
No, the last time silver was in a Kennedy half dollar was 1970 when it was 40% silver. No 1971 or 1972 half dollars contain any silver. The US mint wouldn't make silver proof sets until 1992. So there are a few reasons why your 1972 half seems to be silver, the most common reason is plating, I've seen many Kennedy halves, gold, silver and even chrome plated. The other possibility is an error where the coin was struck on an incorrect blank, but there are very few errors of that type. Without seeing your coin I can't tell you for certain why your coin seems to be silver, but the US mint didn't make silver halves in 1972.
