The dry noodles themselves should be fine. The water to cook them with, not so much.
dry
cooking them brings out the starch in the noodles.
it is equal to 1 and a half because they thicken when cooked
No offense but they only cost about 18 cents a package. Why not go buy some and sniff for yourself?! Dry, they don't smell much like anything. Cooked, they smell like any other cooked noodle.
The macaroni will swell at least double in size when it absorbs the water while boiling. For small noodles such as macaroni, 1 cup dry noodles will equal about 2-1/2 cups boiled noodles. Thus, 2 cups of dry macaroni will make 5 cups cooked macaroni.Note: a cup of dry noodles equals 4 oz, so a pound of dry noodles is about 4 cups and will make 10 cups cooked noodles. For long noodles like spaghetti, 4 oz dry noodles will make 2 cups cooked noodles, or 1 lb will make 8 cups cooked.
That is 454 grams.
You should have dry food.
I simply lay the noodles on tea towels or cookie sheets in a thin layer and leave them to dry. My family has been making noodles for years and this is how my great, great grandmother dried them too. This way you can easily freeze them for future use. Hope this helps. Sarah
When I prepare egg noodles we always leave them out to dry. Depending on the time of the year and where you live (if it's humid or dry) it could take and hour or so or all day. Normally if you make them in the early morning they'll be dry to make dinner, if not you can always blow dry them with a hair dryer.
The easiest way to store open noodles is in an airtight container or put the open end of the noodles into a storage bag and seal with an elastic band. They can then be stored in a cool, dry place in your cupboard or pantry.
This depends. Are the pot noodles dry at room temperature? Then not yet .Are the pot noodles in boiling water? Is the water you are adding from the cold water tap? Then, Yes, as boiling will stop until the new water is at boiling temperature.
