Although quite famous, the Dodo is sadly not the only extinct bird. It had been calculated that since the year 1500, over 190 species of birds had disappeared from the face of earth forever, among them the aforementioned Dodo, the Elephant bird, the New Zealand Quail, the Red Rail and the Bermuda Night Heron.

∙ 13y agoBack in the everglades, when people ( Calusas,Spanish Conquistadors, and Creek Indians) just started to move in, there were clouds of white egrets(type of bird). Then, hunters shot them by the tens and thousands and sold them to decorate womens' hats. Almost none can be found now. The Calusas were very nature loving so they probably didn't kill the egrets. The Spanish Conquistadors drove the Calusas out of their territory in the everglades but then left because they were afraid of the flesh-ripping saw grass and huge roaring animals such as alligators and panthers so the Spanish probably didn't kill them either. Some Creek Indians a.k.a Seminole Indians still live here today so it was probably them. If not, maybe it was hunters who came in later.
i know that dodo birds are extinct cause of hunting
some dinosaurs had feathers and are now are classified as birds. they are extinct cause other dinos killed them and cause that meteor thingy hit earth
the huia bird was killed by pests
Great Auks, Moas, Elephant birds, Terror Birds, Quezacoxtls, Passenger Pigeons, and Archaeopteryxes are also extinct but i don't know how
