Yes, parts of it. I work for Rutgers--it's a really big place. There are three Rutgers Universities: New Brunswick, Newark & Camden. All three are separate schools & you will be accepted into them separately. Both Newark and Camden are urban campuses (and I know those cities have bad reps, but honestly, the university districts are kept nice). At Rutgers New Brunswick, there are four different geographical campuses--still all under Rutgers New Brunswick. The Cook/Douglass Campus, Livingston Campus, and Busch Campus are all pretty suburban college campuses. The College Avenue Campus (used to be called Main Campus) is in downtown New Brunswick, and is urban.

A PhD is just one example of a doctorate. A PhD is a 'generic' doctorate which is earned after 3-5 years of dedicated research and a publishable dissertation. PhD stands for "Doctor of Philosophy" (Philosophy being generally the unknown - regardless of subject). Other doctorates are MD (Medical Doctor), DPH (Doctorate in Public Health), DCS (Doctorate in Computer Science) and many more. In some countries DSc or ScD (Doctor of Science), is a regular doctorate but in other countries it may be a special 'higher degree' that is given to honor many years of outstanding work.
Mason W. Gross was an American author and educator known for his work as the President of Rutgers University. He did not write any publication in the traditional sense, but he contributed to higher education through his leadership and administration at Rutgers University.
