a way to see how many syllables there are in a word is place your hand plam-down underneath your chin not touching your chin but right underneath it so whenever you open your mouth your chin with touch your back of your hand say a word and however many times your chin touches your hand is how many syllables are in that word for example: ev-er-green and Jacob has two syllables in it ja-cob hope that helped :]
