How many times do the clock hands form a 90 degree angle?

Answer
For every position that the hour hand CAN attain, there are TWO
points where the minute hand will achieve a ninety degree angle
from the hour hand.
Answer
It happens 44 times in the course of one full day, and it's
reasonably easy to calculate. See linked question for details.
Technically, if you move the hands of the clock by hand, an
infiinite number of right angles can be formed.

Why does the angle 180 degrees appear 24 times a day on an analog clock?

First of all, it doesn't. The hour-hand and minute-hand align in
opposite directions
only 22 times in 24 hours.
The reason is simply because the hands of an ordinary 12-hour
analog clock go through
every possible orientation every 12 hours ... twice in 24 hours
... and if you take a clock,
set it to 12:00, and then crank it through 24 hours, you'll see
the hands line up in a
180-degree angle 22 times.
