In the book of Luke, chapter 22, starting with verse 39, we are told what happened. After they finished eating Jesus and the disciples went to the garden to pray. Jesus asked the disciples to stay awake and keep watch as He prayed but they kept falling asleep. Judas who betrayed Jesus, led a mob that had temple guards and high priests in it to the garden to capture Jesus. Judas greeted Jesus and the high priests had Jesus arrested. Peter, who usually acted before he thought, took out his sword and cut off the ear of a guard. Jesus told him to stop and then Jesus healed the guards ear. When Jesus was taken off to jail, the disciples scattered out of fear. Peter who once swore that he would never leave Jesus ran away. That is what happened in the garden. Just as the disciples fell asleep when they were susposed to be keeping watch, we also "fall asleep" and don't keep our eyes and hearts on Jesus.
Satan was not present in the Garden of Gethsemane during Jesus' prayer. It was actually Judas Iscariot, accompanied by a crowd, who came to betray Jesus. Judas identified Jesus with a kiss, leading to Jesus' arrest.
Show me what Bible verse you read that revealed to you that Satan was in the Garden and I will explain the verse(s) to you. Questioning ones godly path is not a temptation or attack from Satan. Questioning is what our relationship to God is all about. Wisdom is the key to open the doors of understanding. Ask and you will find the answers. Seek the Word for yourself and it will reveal to you the Truth - His Truth
According to the Holy Bible, the guards fell to the ground( 'Slain in the Spirit' ), when Christ said to them,"I AM"!
Therefore, they were very gentle when taking him away, for fear of a repeat of the Spirit's Power.
