How many trees are saved by recycling one ton of paper?
Average 1 ton of waste paper could saved 17 mature trees.
Recycling one ton of paper saves 17 trees
First, we have to define what a "tree" is. Let's say an average pine tree weighs a ton (2000 pounds). About half the tree ends up being usable, so that's 1000 pounds. Well a 500 page package of paper is about 5 pounds. So 1000 pounds (tree) divided by 5 pounds (ream of paper) is 200 reams of paper from 1 tree. The average business uses about 1 pound of paper per day per employee. That's a lot of trees.
over 14 million tree would be saved
By recycling one small adverage cardboard box saves 5 trees
Recycling paper is not only important because it saves trees but also because it reduces pollution and it conserves valuable energy. If everybody in the US recycled only our daily newspapers we would save 250 million trees a year! ask you stuppid mom dummy. how many recycled piece of paper save a tree
Recycling makes a BIG difference. All paper that is recycled goes to a special factory that washes ink of paper and creates new sheets to start a new process. This helps because paper is made from trees and by recycling, not as many trees have to be chopped down!!!!! :-)
Depends on how much you recycle.
Recycling half of the worlds paper would save 20 million acres of forest. Wow!
none you dqmn blockheads
Not even one.
by recycling paper. by trying not to use too many wood products.
If 2000 pounds of paper are recylced 17 trees are saved and if 9000 pounds of paper are recycled how many trees are saved?
2000 pounds of recycled paper saves 17 trees 9000 pounds of recycled paper saves 17 x 9000/2000 = 76.5 trees In practical terms this would be stated as saving 76 trees.
Strictly speaking, it isn't. But many people think it's a great idea. Recycling paper means that less trees gets felled to make paper, and less paper has to go to landfills. Making paper out of paper also use up less energy than making paper from trees, so society save some there too.
17 trees for every ton of recycled paper
About a twig. It takes many papers even to equal one tree.
three cubic yards.
8,395 gallons, or 31,780 liters of water is saved when you recycle one ton of paper.
Recycling is important because if you recycle you can give another life to your rubbish. Many trees can be saved and we will have a better environment.
If you continue to recycle newspapers over the course of a year or more, then you will potentially be saving thousands of trees. Recycling other paper products, like magazines or cardboard, can also help greatly, too.
About 17 mature trees. It could be less or more depending on what kind of tree and how tall or big it is.
There are many advantages to recycling paper, but there are also a couple of drawbacks. Namely, paper recycling plants produce a fairly noxious odor. It is harmless, but it smells horrendous.
roughly 61,500,000 trees are destroyed every year to make the paper students use for homework. Hopefully at least some of the paper involved is put to good use in education about recycling.
It depends on how much paper one person recycles; the organizations do not give stats for one person. However, every ton (2000 pounds) of recycled paper can save 17 trees. That means each tree is worth about 117.647058824 pounds of paper (rounded up it is 117.65 pounds). According to the University of Southern Indiana, "The average household throws away 13,000 separate pieces of paper each year. Most is packaging and junk mail." "If every American… Read More
paper affects the environment by destruction, the cut down millions of trees a days to make them into paper and just throw them out the next day, if people keep an cutting down so many trees and polluting by putting paper in the garbage and not the recycling bow there will be no trees left for our generation! So don't pollute! and put paper in the recycling! Actually paper is extremely important to the environment… Read More
Trees are used to make paper. If you throw away paper there is no way to conserve it because it is being taken to a landfill to demolish it.That is really bad for the environment because we are loosing trees. If we loose all of our trees many of the fruits we eat like apples, lemons, and peaches will be gone. We also need trees and other plants to breath. If you recycle paper you… Read More
A very small part of a tree, maybe a twig. But remember there are billions of paper plates thrown into landfill all over the world, so if everyone recycles, what a difference that will make!
The Sunday paper doesn't make trees, trees grow.
Simply put, NO. In order for 'recycling' to be a benefit, the costs of it need to be less than the cost of producing a 'new' product. In most cases, this is true only for items like aluminum, which have a very high initial cost, but can be recycled for less money and energy consumption. Recycling doesn't make sense if the complete costs of it (transportation, energy, deferred costs, etc) are figured into the equation… Read More
You can run a TV for three hours on the energy saved by recycling one aluminium can.
This is not the direct answer to the question, but it is possible to estimate how many trees are used in a year for paper towels based on the facts below... As quoted in the Earth Threat dot org blog - originally found at Seventh Generation: "544,000 trees would be saved by replacing a 70-sheet roll of virgin fiber paper towels." See the Related Links below for more information from both of these resources.
One bus can replace as many as 40 cars, a significant savings on the environment. Recycling a ton of paper saves 17 trees. Over 80 percent of all household waste can be recycled.
About eight billion trees get cut down for paper.
Approximately 4 billion trees or 35% of the total trees cut around the world are used in paper industries annually. Have you ever thought that the paper you use is made out of how many trees? The paper you use is made out of 10 trees. Please do not waste paper and use it intelligently. And yes daily almost '2,00,000' of trees are cut down!
* I don't know how they recycle aluminum or steel. Do they? * I take the newspapers outside but it's easier to put them in the trash. How do they recycle paper anyway? * And can you really save trees by recycling paper? How crazy is that! * I don't know what all the numbers mean on plastic. It's too confusing. * How do they recycle glass anyway. * I don't have much garbage anyway… Read More
About 15 to 17 trees are used to produce 1 ton of paper.
17 Trees are saved by every tonne of existing papaer that is recycled.
Recycling paper is important because then we don't need to cut down as much of the forest as we are doing now, because right now we are cutting too many trees down. Pollution is too high, the earth is vulnerable and we need to keep our earth's oxygen and the environment clean. Recycling is important because it saves resources and it saves energy. It also reduces the amount of material that we have to consign… Read More
Paper is produced from wood pulp. Since this pulp ultimately comes from trees and we only have/can have so many trees, paper is a finite resource.
It takes 17 trees to produce one ton of paper. SO MUCH! don't waste paper!
because so many tees die out each year. these include cutting dow habitats such as rainforests and since we need trees to survive, we are cutting down what we need to live. so we try to do this less by re-using (recycling) paper to make sure we do this less. hope this helped :)
17 trees. One ton of cardboard recycling saves 17 trees,681 gallons of gasoline, 6mt co2 emission..
we recycle paper in order to conserve trees and paper .......it costs a lot to wadte papr\er as many trees are being cut for this purpouse n it takes many years to grpw them again......
Paper can be made from bamboo plant and trees and many more plants and non-plants material.
There is no easy answer - the less paper you use the fewer trees are cut down to make paper. Many people are spending more time planting trees than time spent using paper
it depends what size the paper is.
The United States of America cuts down about 14 million trees every year for paper shopping bags. If everyone used a reusable shopping bag, this number would decrease dramatically to about 2-3 million.
It would be easier to know the weight of 1000 pieces. It takes about 17 trees (11 meters tall) to make about 1000 Kg of paper. I'm not sure how many trees does it take to make a 1000 pieces of paper.
Roughly 2 thousand million trees are cut down to make paper.
the average tree makes around 40,000 sheets of paper
That depends on how much less paper you use...
It really depends on how many sheets you'll be making but you'll cut many trees for the production of this thing.
Too many to survive on for much longer. this is why we need to recycle instead of being selfish jerks with our paper. they provide us with our sweet oxygen. the earth gives us what we need to survive, and in return we abuse it and cut off its precious limbs. we need to start recycling. we are becoming scarce on trees. and remember: scares on trees means scarce on oxygen. let that sink in… Read More
