There are basically two types of spark ignition engine. They are the diesel spark engines and the petrol spark engines.
There are six (6) ignition coils and six (6) spark plugs for a V8 3.5 liter engine.
diesel
The number of spark plug in a 4-cylinder engine depends on the type of engine you have. Some engines only have four spark plugs on the intake side for the ignition of the fuel. Other engines have eight spark plugs, four on the intake side to ignite the fuel and four on the exhaust side to ignite the exhaust fumes.
No There are many types of spark plug. They differ in size, heat range and amount of electrodes fitted. To avoid damage to an engine always use the recommended spark plug for that engine. The wrong plug will cause massive engine damage at times.
The 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine has ( 8 spark plugs ) , twin plug ignition system The 2.9 liter and 4.0 liter V6 engines have ( 6 spark plugs )
The 3.0 liter and 4.0 liter V6 engines have ( 6 ) spark plugs The 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine has ( 8 ) spark plugs with Fords twin plug ignition system
There are 6 spark plugs in a V6 engine.
No spark plugs are used in a diesel engine
The 2.5L engine has 8 plugs and it does only have 4 Cylinders...It has a dual ignition system. The 2 rear spark plugs and wires on the Driver's side are hard to get to...
This can be caused by many things. Kill or ignition switch shorted, a wire to them gone to ground, ignition coil bad, stator bad, plugs. Need more info to determine cause. Check if you have spark on one plug if there are more than one.
The 1996 Ford Ranger 2.3 L engine has Fords Twin Plug ignition system , so it has ( 8 spark plugs )
( 6 spark plugs ) with the V6 engine ( 8 spark plugs ) with a V8 engine
