A simple majority ( more than half of those voting) suffices to pass a bill of impeachment in the House of Representatives. If such a bill is passed by the House, the Senate hold a trial, based on the charges in the House bill. Two-thirds of the Senators ( that is 67 Senators, if all vote) must vote in favor of conviction in order to remove the President from office.
