ANSWERSome have calculated it to be about 4000 years, but we really have no way to know exactly. ANSWERI f you use numerology, the study of words and numbers, which is based on the kabala, the i-ching, and ancient phythagorism and arcana philosophies, the beginning of man or Adam can be calculated to 10,000 BC, when some archeologists say they find the best evidence of modern man's beginning. The word Man and Adam adds up to 10,000, according to the kabala alphabet. At that time, the vibrations of the world went counterclockwise, from 9 to 1, and the events of the world went in those vibrations. When the physical evidence of Christ's birth was discovered by the three Wise Men on 01/01/01 AD, the calendar changed to AD, anno dominum, and the vibrations of man and words and numbers and the events of the world changed to clockwise, from 1 to 9, By the way the word 'balance' adds up to 20,000, so we may have until 10,000 AD to be here if we don't ruin the world before then (10000BC TO 10000 AD IS 20000 YEARS)

Edit: it is in reality known, but it takes a long time. We can use Gal 3:17 and the fact that it was 483 years from the time of the rebuilding of the temple in 450 B.C {Nehemiah} to the LORD dying for our sins and rising again. Then we can add the reigns of the judges and kings. Adding the kings is really tricky as some reigned in Samaria and some reigned in Jerusalem and some in both. So we have to go down the timelines of both. This takes a long time but a guy who has read the Word of GOD { A.V. 1611 } 11 times told me it is EXACTLY 4000 years from the year and month { Feast of tabernacles } the LORD Jesus Christ Created the first Adam to the Year the Last Adam { the LORD JESUS CHRIST } Came to this earth { Feast of Tabernacles }. When I'm done with the mathematics and Verses, I'll present my chart. LORD Bless: Rocky nextaxpro.wordpress.com twitter.com/Nextaxpro

Adam lived 130 years and then had Seth.

Seth lived 105 years and then had Enosh.

Enosh- 90

Peleg- 30

Reu- 32

Serug- 30

Nahor- 29

Terah- 70

Abram (Abraham)- 100

Isaac- 60

Jacob- 88

THIS IS WHERE IT GETS REALLY TRICKY. Explanation of where this number is from: <We know that Jacob was 130 when he went down to Egypt (Gen 47:9), which was two years into the famine, after seven years of plenty ( = 9 years from the time Joseph met Pharaoh). Joseph was 30 when he first appeared in front of Pharaoh (Gen 41:46). Which means that Joseph was 39 when Jacob was 130. So Jacob was 91 at Joseph's birth. Leah had seven kids, born in consecutive years (he worked 20 years for Laban (Gen 31:41) - 7 years, then he gets married, then 7 more in payback for being able to marry Rachel, plus 6 years that Jacob worked with Laban's sheep. Joseph was born just before the final 6 years began (Gen 30:25, 30:36). Joseph was the last child born (he was Rachel's first) at the same time as Leah's last, Dina. Judah was her fourth child, born 3 years earlier (assuming one child a year, since that's the way the math works). That makes Jacob 88 at the time of Judah's birth. (whew!)>

Judah- 35 (From the above explanation, we know that Jacob was 91 when he had Joseph and 88 when he had Judah. So Judah was 3 years older than Joseph. About the time Joseph was 17 (Genesis 37:2), Judah went and married. He was about 20. From here on we can only speculate about dates, as they are no longer mentioned in detail. About fifteen years later, he gave birth to Perez. So he was about 35.)

If we substitute an estimate of 20-100 years of age for each of the unknowns, that leaves us with approximately 3100 to 5580 years. A good in-between guesstimate would be that it's about 4000 years between Adam and Jesus. There are many scholarly views on this subject; if you'd like to get further into the idea, I've been told a good book is "The Chronology of the Old Testament," by Dr. Floyd Nolan Jones.

It is believed by many that Adam was created in 4026BCE and died 930 years later, in 3096BCE. Somewhere in that 930 years(Genesis 5:5), Eve was created, they sinned and were expelled from the Garden. Jesus was born around 2 BCE, so there were probably upwards of 3500 years between Adam's creation and Jesus birth on earth.
