This depends on the size of the dog when it is mature (i.e what breed it is). But for all breeds 4 months (human) would be 5-6 years (dog). Up to human year 5, all sizes of breeds age similarly, where they can be considered to be in their mid- 30s in human years, but after that, the scale changes quite a lot according to breed size. Below I've posted 2 URLs that take you to charts showing the ages for the different size of dog - the first is fairly simplified, the second is pretty detailed, but you'll need to know the adult breed average weight for an dog of the type you have to use it.

I think he would be 3 years old in human years. This is why: Example: dog is 1 years old. Multiply by seven to equal 7 years. So, dog is 7 yrs in human years or in months: he is 12 months. Multiply by seven to equal 84. he is 7 years in human years. If he is 11 months you do this: 11x7=77months which equals 6 years. You go on and on until you reach 7 months. 7x7=49 months which somehow would get you to 3 years old.

To convert dog years to human years, you multiply by seven. So since three years is too low, we will convert to months: 36 months. 36 divided by 7 is about 5 years. So the average age of a dog that is three in human years is five dog years.

69Here's how to find out how: It is a common belief that 1 human year is equal to 7 dog years. That is not very accurate, since dogs reach adulthood within the first couple of years. The formula used above is from a canine expert and is a bit more accurate. (as accurate as one can judge these things)

The formula is: 10.5 dog years per human year for the first 2 years, then 4 dog years per human year for each year after.

Each human year is equal to SEVEN dog years. So a one-year-old dog in human years would be a seven year old in dog years. I used to have a 15-year-old dog. To find his age I had to multiply 7 by 15. In dog years he was 105 years old.

Approximately 21 years.

The general rule of thumb is seven dog years for one human year. However, this is only a general guide. In the early years of a dog's life, one human year equals more than 7 dog years, because dogs reach adulthood much quicker.

As the dog ages, the equivalent human years are fewer.

A better way to calculate is that, for the dog's first two years of life, each human year equals 10.5 dog years, and after that it is closer to 1 human year = 4 dog years.

Animals age at a faster rate then humans do including dogs. To figure out how many years old a dog is in dog years you would need to multiply the actual age by seven. So a dog who is 4 years old would be 28 years old in dog years.

Is there a difference between dog and cat years?

Yes, there's a difference between cat years and dog years. What we call "dog years"(to calculate a dog's "human" age), is simple. For every human year a dog has lived, that's 7 "dog years". So a 2 year old dog is 14 dog years, while a 5 year old dog is 35 dog years. A cat's age is a little more tricky. Different sources vary slightly, but this is the most common way. The first year of a cat's life is 15 "cat years". Then you add 9 "cat years" for the second year, so a 2 "human year" old cat is 24 "cat years". For every "human year" after that, you add 4 "cat years". An 8 "human year" old cat would be 48 "cat years". "human year" = 365 days, one revolution around the Sun "cat year" = the comparative "year" for a cat based on milestones, such as walking, sexual maturity

How old is a 2 year old in in human years?

Contrary to the old saying one dog year is not equivalent to seven human years. Vets use the formula that a one-year-old dog is 21 in human years, and every year of the dog's life thereafter is like 4 human years. So your two-year-old dog is 25 in human terms.

How old is your Staffordshire bull terrier in dog years?

There is a common perception that 1 human year is equal to 7 dog years, but that is not quite accurate. Dogs reach adulthood in about 2-3 years. A better formula to use is 10.5 human years for the first 2 years of your dog, then 4 dog years per human year for each year after that. So, if your dog is 2 years old in human years, he/she is 21 years old in dog years. If your dog is 3 years old in human years, he/she is 25 years old in dog years.

How old is a 2 month old dog in dog years?

The theory of every calendar human year being equivalent to 7 dog years would break down to each human month being .583 of a dog year (just over half or about 7 months human). So your 2 month old puppy is about 14 months old in dog years.
