If the mutation is beneficial to the organism in a way that helps it survive and reproduce more efficiently, it wil pass the trait on to it's offspring. It's offspring continues to reproduce more efficiently than the original species. The older species gradually dies off, leaving the new, better organism to thrive.

Scientists use radiation and chemicals to induce what?

It's mutations.

Why do breeders sometimes induce mutations in the organisms they are working with?

It is so called artificial selection and there is no inducing necessary. Only to find some different features and allow to have descendants to their bearers.

Is 'mutations are beneficial to organisms' a true statement about mutations?

Usually mutations have deleterious effects to the organism, but occasionally there are beneficial mutations. Such mutations drive evolution.

Are most of the fruits and vegetables you get at a supermarket the product of accidental mutations?

Every life form is probably the product of accidental mutations! Nowadays mutations are not necessarily accidental--they are called genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
