This should be determined by your veterinarian, as the dose will depend on your dog's size, percent body fat, liver and kidney function and level of pain. You should NEVER give human medications to your dog either - dogs react very differently to medications than humans and what is safe for people may kill your dog.

No, you should never give a dog any over-the-counter pain medication intended for humans. Dogs react poorly to these drugs as they are very sensitive to the side effect that causes stomach bleeding - even one pill can be enough to cause a fatal stomach ulcer.

If you suspect your dog is in pain, you should take your dog to your vet for an exam. Your vet can then see if your dog is in pain and if needed prescribe safe medications to help your dog feel better.

None. At all.

Although some human medication can be administered to dogs, ibuprofen is not one of them. Ibuprofen is specifically engineered for human bodies, so no dosage is safe for a dog, large or small.

Painkillers do not fix the problem, it only hides it for a couple of hours. The real problem needs to be addressed by a vet.

Giving ibuprofen to a dog can cause your furry friend to experience and expire from an excruciating heart attack.
