i have read about this topic, and it seems about a quarter cup can be lethal. If it spills, wash it away with water, and hose off if possible.

Actually it depends on the size of the dog. My dog recently died due to antifreeze, he was a 90+ pound Lab. He would have needed at least a cup of antifreeze to cause damage to his kidneys and kill him. The smaller the animal the smaller the amount of poison. If your pet consumes a small amount you may have a chance to bring him to the vet and save him or her.
