I use the floating dispenser on a 13 foot pool and keep 5 1" tablets in it all the time. I use an algecide about every other week. I went almost 2 months doing this before the water started to get a little cloudy, so I just shocked it which should clear the cloudiness in a day or so.
I have a 12 x 33 easy set pool and it says to add 1.5 ounces to a 1700 gallon pool to keep free chlorine levels between 2-4 . Any higher than that and it is not safe to swim. I buy the 6 way test strips (hth brand) you can find at ANY walmart. I also bought a water testing kit for testing chlorine and PH the most important 2 things to check daily. HTH web site even has a LIVE CHAT to answer any questions you have regarding pool chemical issues. . If you check levels every day and shock once a week, you should be fine, HAPPY SWIMMING in Minnesota
Im not sure but i do know its not half a gallon like i just put in my 10 ft 30 inch pool. I was told wrong and its got so much in it the whole yard smells of chlorine.
depends on how deep it is !!! Is this a silly question or a trick question.
The amount of chlorine depends on volume of water not one dimension of the pool.
in your pool. You can put it in anywhere you like. most people like to spread it a round as this will distribute it more quickly throughout the water.
That depends on what size pool you have. If you have a smaller pool, the amount would be less, and if you have a larger pool, the amount is more. Consult the instructions on a chlorine box for what size pool and how much to use.
about 3 oz.
You don't use soda. You use Chlorine or Acid if it needs. Go to a pool supply co. & consult. they will get you set up.
There is no such thing.
you don't put chlorine in the bath tub you put it in pool, and hot tubs, public water ect.
You should not put any Earth in your 18 foot round 5 foot deep pool. You should only put water and cleaners in the pool.
You need a test kit
I'm assuming 15 round? Not much, start with 4 ounces of granular per week, monitor levels to see where total and free is at. Make sure to shock weekly, too. A chlorine based shock is your chlorine levels need to be raised, or a non-chlorine oxidizer if your chlorine levels are above 5 ppm.
It depends how much you use it. If you use it a lot then yes. If you don't use it a ton then you don't need it. however if it is outside then it needs chlorine no matter how much you use it.
how much chlorine do I put for a 1,718 gallon pool
The best thing to do if you are inexperienced in pool maintenance it to take a sample of water from your pool in a clean bottle from about an arms length in depth to you local pool shop. There they will test the water for free and tel you how much chlorine your pool needs. Take along the dimensions of the pool as well for them to calculate the requirements.
