The immediate impression from the question is that the crayfish is much more likely to be traumatized.

The difference between an English crayfish and an American crayfish is the English crayfish grows to about 3 inches long. It is red- brown in color. It's claws has a turquois and white blotch on the edge of the claw. The American crayfish grows to about 6 inches long. This crayfish is much larger and it's claws are red underneath.
Crayfish are very good at getting out, so it's best not to fill a tank to the top.

That depends on the species of crayfish. There are both fresh water and salt water crays ranging in mature sizes from 3 inches to 60 inches. If kept in a fish tank with fish, most of them will grab a lump of fish to eat if they get half a chance. IMO Crayfish not in the wild should be on a plate cooked and ready for eating.
