How much do you pay a pianist for a funeral?

if you like his style of playing he should get paid between $150.00-$200.00 for the service. A musician is working long before he gets to his performance, what you hear and experience is the end result of his hard work!

It would be a rare assignment. most funerals take place in churches- and the music used is played by the Church Organist- Various, usually sedate hymns are used ( From Whom all blessings flow)- was the communion hymn at my Mother"s funeral mass. ( air chimes were sounded at key points, a nice touch). Piano music did not figure. I have never seen a piano in a funeral parlor or home- Organs, yes. I just thought of a pun an Orgue ( french for Organ) for the Morgue! our offertory hymn will be White Room, please stand!

You would pay them a couple hundred dollars depending on how long they played. You could get away with as little as a hundred dollars.
