Not enough
Actually, this answer depends on a number of different variables. If the employer happens to be a "union shop", you can expect some fairly good wages that would (more than likely) include medical benefits and a pension plan. I can speak for the industry in the lower mainland of British Columbia (Vancouver and environs). Many municpalities here require ASTTBC certification. A "Registered Fire Protection Technician" that holds certifications in the four main fields (FA - Fire Alarm, WA - Water Based Extinguishment Systems, EX - Extinguisher, and EL - Emergency Lighting Systems) can command an hourly rate of between $24.00 and $36.00 depending on the employer. There are several links to organizations that may give you more detailed information.
A fire extinguisher tech makes around $32.52 an hour. All fire extinguishers are designed to put out fires. A Dry extinguisher uses a powder or gas rather than a liquid and someone gets paid to make these.
Not Enough. Depends on the company. 8.50 to 18.50 an hour.
