It really depends what is wrong with it and who you have do the repair! Numerous things could be wrong and different places charge different amounts. Most places will charge you a fee of around $30 to look at it then labor and parts. Expect to send $200-$300 if you have a company do it.

I just had my computer reinstalled by an engineer from ClickFix IT - a PC repair company based in Northumberland.

The engineer came to my house and fixed my problems within an hour and charged me a very reasonable £25.

I'm thrilled to bits and will be recommending them to all of my friends...

so to answer your question, I'd say about £25.

A computer repair charge depends entirely on the nature of the fault. Labor charges can mount up quickly and many repair technicians have a fixed minimum charge before looking at a computer. The only way to get an estimate of the cost is to inquire with a repair company and ask for a quotation before proceeding with any work.

If you are having problems with your computer, you may be able to troubleshoot it yourself. However, there are times where your computer issues are so severe that you cannot do it on your own and need to take it to a repair shop. How much is that going to cost you?

What Kind Of Computer Do You Have

The reality is that if you have an older computer, it is going to be harder to repair in a lot of cases. This is because your hardware and software is going to be outdated and may not be readily available. If you use your computer for gaming, or other specialized functions, it could also add to the cost of the repairs.

What Is Your Issue

If the issue is a small one, it could be fixed relatively easily. For example, if your mouse isn't working, it could be that your cat walked across the keyboard and disabled your mouse pad. Something like that could be diagnosed and fixed for a low cost, or maybe even for free as a favor. On the other hand, if your hard drive was deleted, or your computer has viruses, it could cost hundreds to fix.

What Are You Paying For

With any repair work, you are going to be paying for the parts, labor and any other costs incurred fixing your computer. This means that your fix could cost you 50 dollars, or it could cost you 500 dollars, depending on what needs to be fixed and how long it takes. It is a good idea to get an estimate before you actually go ahead and repair the computer. Consider the future usefulness of your machine before getting repairs. Each computer repair is unique, and each repair shop will have its own pricing. To get a good idea of what you are going to pay, you should try to figure out how hard it will be to diagnose and fix and how long it will take. That should give you a good idea of what it would cost to repair your computer.

This usually depends on what's wrong with it. Generally professional computer technicians will charge $80-$100 /hr. Amatuer technicians will charge $10-$50/hr. You should also add in the cost of parts and markup on those parts as well. You should also consider the possibility of success. For instance, with water damage, your chance of a successful computer repair might be as high as 30%. But whether it's fixed or not, you still need to pay for the time and parts that went into the attempted repair.
