Poison dart and poisonous arrow frogs are not separate types of creature. Many tree frogs, mainly from the Amazon forests, concentrate poisons from the insects they eat, such as certain ants, and spread it on their own skins for their own protection. There are over 100 such species, of which less than half a dozen usually are used for poisoning arrows and darts. Their names do not tell one much of what they are used to poison, or whether they are used at all, and there is no name that everyone uses consistently. So you could say that they really are the same.y that I mean there is no way that you could give a rule by which one could say that a frog is a poison dart frog and not a poison arrow frog or the other way round.
Well, poison dart frogs do not have venom. It is there slimy poisonous skin that gives it its name. If poison dart frogs are bred in captivity they do not have poisonous skin,is what I heard. Poison dart frogs are not the best pets. :)
Not really. Poison dart frogs eat insects, and they don't need much teeth to do that.
Stunning species from isolated spots in Peru. Relatively easy to keep in captivity as is tolerant of a fairly wide temperature range. The legal status of this frog is subject to much discussion but needs clarification. caspar

It depends on the species. Most, like toads and pond frogs, aren't very smart at all. But some frogs, like tree frogs and poison dart frogs, seem to be much smarter, but still not as smart as, for example, lizards or mammals.
