Best Answer

For Protons: Mass of 1 proton = 1.6726215e-27 kg, so, [1 proton/1.6726215e-27 kg] x [1 kg/2.2 lb] = 2.717563e26 protons/lb. If the volume of a proton is them ~1.4e-55 m^3, then the volume of a pound of protons compressed into a solid mass as would be found in a neurton star is about 3.8e-29 cubic meters. To put this in perspective, the diameter of a hydrogen atom is ~1.06e-10m, giving a volume of 6.23e-31 m^3, which is about 60 times larger than the pound of protons.
