Well, 1 liter of WATER (note the density of a substance depends upon which substance it is) weighs 1000g since 1 liter is 1000 milliliters and the density (I hope you realize you can get the mass of a substance from its volume and vice versa by means of its density) of water is 1 gram per milliliter. So 240 liters would weigh 240,000g (or 2.4x10^5g), and since 1000g weighs 2.204622622 lbs, 240,000g would weigh 529.12lbs.
