North American Tree Octopi, Polypus aquilonemarbor, weighs exactly 8 pounds. Each leg weighing .75 lbs and the body 2 lbs.

South American Vine Octopi (which live in trees as well), Polypus meridiemvitis, is half that. It is believed to have evolved a smaller size better adapted for the size of the vines than its North American branch dwelling cousin.

Tree Octopi are funny! If only they really existed! :)
