That depends on rank, here is the pay chart: Rank <2 2 3 4 6 8 10 12 E-9 4022.10 4113.30 E-8 3292.50 3438.30 3528.30 E-7 2288.70 2498.10 2593.80 2720.70 2819.40 2989.50 3084.90 3180.30 E-6 1979.70 2178.00 2274.30 2367.60 2465.10 2685.00 2770.50 2865.30 E-5 1814.10 1935.30 2028.60 2124.60 2273.70 2402.10 2496.60 2,526.60 E-4 1662.90 1748.10 1842.60 1935.90 2018.40 2018.40 2018.40 2018.40 E-3 1501.20 1595.70 1692.00 1692.00 1692.00 1692.00 1692.00 1692.00 E-2 1427.40 1427.40 1427.40 1427.40 1427.40 1427.40 1427.40 1427.40 E-1 1273.50 1273.50 1273.50 1273.50 1273.50 1273.50 1273.50 1273.50 E-1 with less than 4 months of service 1178.10 While this pay scale is probably accurate (and very confusing based on the horrible layout), it can't answer your question, nor can I. Being a Ranger (meaning that you have graduated the Ranger Indoctrination Program and have been assigned to either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Ranger Battalion or the 75th Ranger Regiment) doesn't necessarily increase your pay scale. You still get paid based on your rank, time in service and a little extra for being Airborne qualified, however when there is a conflict in which the military is involved it is a guarantee that as a Ranger you will be deployed (in rotation with the other two battalions and elements of 75th).
Any time you get deployed you receive hazardous duty pay along with your regular pay being tax free while you're away. The good news is that since 75th Ranger Regt. (and the three battalions under it's command) are special operations units operating under SOCOM, they don't deploy for years (or at least 18 months) at a time like the regular infantry... it's more like three or four months with specific operations and missions rather than replacing troops, securing and overseeing a location for long periods of time.
So, I hope this helps whoever may be curious and if you're thinking about enlisting, then definitely give yourself a shot at becoming a Ranger; those guys aren't there just for the college money and you can actually depend on them when the sh!t hits the fan.
in the army you make 900,000 and 1,0000
