It really depends on a lot of things.
If you're bouncing in a big club type city like Vegas, LA, New York, San Diego etc you will be getting paid considerably more.
Normal cities, in normal clubs or bars, you're looking at somewhere between 10 and 20 an hour. This doesn't end up being much money considering you are working 3-6 hour shifts, 2-4 nights a week. It is very rare outside of the big club scenes to find a bouncer who isn't already working another day job as well.
Most places pay their bouncers under the table, or as 1099 independent employees so they don't get taxed by the employer. Which is kinda a plus.
Some bouncers kinda freelance, getting to know different club/bar owners and just get paid a flat, nightly rate, such as $100 a night or something like that. And finding different places to work. For instance, club A might have a Wednesday night promotion while bar B has a Thursday night special and then work their normal club/bar fridays and saturdays.
It all has to do with who you know in the club/bar scene.
It really isn't all its cracked up to be though. Definitely not like it's portrayed in the movies. I work at an upscale lounge in a pretty big city and it is probably the most boring job I have ever had (that's including telemarketing). On average, I bounce 2 guys a night for being too drunk and 1 guy per month for fighting.
I work 6 nights a week bouncing with all the money i make it ranges from 575-700. but can range any where from 250-1000(if u grease alottttttt)
