∙ 10y agoThe new 2012 Mac-book Air (13 inch) weighs 3 pounds by itself and with the AC adapter comes in at a total system weight of 3.7 pounds which is very notable, but in comparison this about only one pound lighter then the 2011 Mac-book Pro (15 inch) which comes in at 4.6 pounds and carries a faster processor, better graphics capabilities not to mention the retina display.

∙ 9y agoStarting from the mid-2009 to mid-2012, the 13 inch MacBook Pro weighed around 4.5 lbs. From late-2012 to mid-2014, it was around 3.5 lbs. The reduction in weight was largely due to no longer carrying an optical (DVD) drive.
