My dog is just over 11 lbs and the vet prescribed 125mg (1/4 of a 500mg tablet) of Robaxin three times a day for a possible slipped disk. But I would check with your dog's vet just to be sure.

∙ 13y agoDo not give a dog robitussin. It could kill the dog. If he has a cough ask a vet what to do about the situation, animals have special medicine. They are sensitive to most human medicines. Dogs can take beano for gas and pepto bismol for stomach problems.

Also, keep in mind, the dosage I gave you is only a general guideline for this particular med. You can probably call your local emergency animal clinic for free, and they can answer your question much better. This would certainly be much safer for your dog. I can't stress enough the importance of asking a professional before taking the advice of a non-professional.
