Freon is a trademark of DuPont for a line of CFC and HFC refrigerants manufactured by them and marketed under the Freon name. I'm going to assume you're referring to R134a, the refrigerant used in automotive and several other AC systems since 1995. A 12 ounce can without additives generally runs around $10. The large 24 lbs. cylinders... you can't buy them without corresponding ASE and EPA certifications.
