The U.S. did not make any dollar coins dated 1816. From your description, it's a silver round not a genuine coin. Value is about $19.00.
Please look at the coin again and post new question. No U.S. one dollar coins exist dated 1816.
Please look at the coin again. No authentic 1816 U.S. one dollar coins exist.
If you have a "Silver Coin" dated 1816, it's not a U.S. coin. The only coin issued by the United States in 1816 was a Large Cent.
100 Thousand approx!
No US silver dollars were minted for circulation from 1804 to 1835 inclusive. If your coin says ONE DOLLAR and is dated 1816 it's either a fantasy coin, a bullion "round" or one of the many fakes that have come from Asia during the last couple of decades.

1816 dime
How can I fine out how much my quarter is worth??
Silver Lake Bank was created in 1816.
An 1816 capped bust quarter is easily worth $100 or more. However, if the date 1816 is just below the word Indiana and has a picture of a race car, then it's a modern state quarter and is worth 25 cents.
Sorry the coin does not exist. The American Silver Eagle Bullion coins were first struck in 1986. Look at the coin again and post new question.
