a dollar
The U.S. didn't mint any silver dollars in 1946.
The US didn't print any bills dated 1946.
It is worth about $12 if in circulated condition and about $30 if uncirculated.
1951 was the last year of issue for this coin (1946-1951) it was struck at all 3 Mints. Assuming it's circulated and has no Mintmark, the retail value is $10.00 to $21.00 depending on how much wear the coin has.
A 1984 half dollar from either country (the US or Canada) is only worth face value if you found it in change. Neither contains any silver - the US coin is cupronickel while the Canadian one is pure nickel. An uncirculated one might retail for $1 to $2 depending on how well-struck it is.
Average condition about a dollar, uncirculated may be $5.00
Check that date or denomination again. There were no silver dollars minted that year.
