It's only worth face value.
It's just a common penny with no added value.
It depends on the year and condition of the penny. If it is from any time in the 1950s or later, it is most likely worth nothing to collectors - so it is worth face value (1 cent). All the D means is that is is made in the Denver mint.
All circulation-strike quarters dated 1965 and later are made of copper-nickel, not silver. There are no major varieties among 1998 quarters, so anything that you find in change with a D or P mint mark beside Washington's wig will only be worth 25¢. Some special "Prestige Proof" 1998 quarters were struck for collectors. These have an S mint mark and should be in special packages identifying them as Prestige coins. Values range from $5 to $20 depending on quality.
Work in cents...10D + 25Q = 405 and D = Q - 5Substitute: 10(Q - 5) + 25Q = 405ie 10Q - 50 + 25Q = 405ie 35Q = 455so Q = 13, making D = 8

You need to know its exact date and whether there is a small D or S under the bow on the back. Most quarters from that time period are worth about $2.50 - $3.00 for their silver content, but some (e.g. a 1940-D) can be worth much more. Please post a new and more specific question.
because of their class..there is class a and d...and the year it was made.
US quarters minted before 1965 were 90% silver, not pure silver. Based on current silver prices, a '45-D quarter is worth about $5.50 in average condition, and closer to $15 if in uncirculated condition.
