WWII German lugars value vary from about $800-$1200 for battlefield pick-ups, these are usually in the poorest shape. If the "take-home papers" are with it stating what battle or area it was recovered the value goes up! Artiliary lugars in 9mm with a 10" barrel and all of the other accessories ( detachable shoulder stock and 40 round drum magazine) sell for $5500 and up! I collect these hand guns and have several. Also note that after WWI a lot of Lugars were converted to .30 cal due to the treaty of Versallies, these can usually be found for $800 or less. Condition plays the largest role, or if the lugar can be varified as belonging to a famous general or person. Be careful when working the action on these babies, due to their age and condition Misfires are common.... Safety first when any gun or weapon is handeled!

That is virtualy unknown with the data provided. It coud range from less then 300 dollars to be scrapped out a parts, to 300 thousand or more for a presemtation piece with appropriate records to a well known Nazi figure. In general the following apply:

  • Cased weapons draw a big premium.
  • Cased weapons with all matching serial numbers have a higher value.
  • Longer barrels add value. Odd length barrels are very prized.
  • Large Magazines add value.
  • Smaller Calibres add value. (Less were produced.) (.45 ACP is the exception and go for more then a Million dollars a copy.)
  • Low or repeating serial numbers add vaue (xx777 is worth less then xx7777 and more then xx3257 if everything else is equal.
  • Proven ownership adds value. Marked with Czech, Polish or Italian Insignia and add more big bucks.
  • Engraving, particularly names add value. A Name, number and Schutstaffel mark adds super value.
  • Inlays add value. Gold inlays add more value then silver.
  • Quality adds value, very great quality adds very great value.
  • Special grips add value. A rare engraved stone adds big bucks.

Almost anything that has a provenance will increase a weapons value.

I believe you may be referring to a P38, not a luger P08. both fire the 9mm cartridge. however, the luger, P08, is more desired by collectors. Also value of any pistol depends on overall condition.............

Anywhere from a few $100 to several thousand dollars. Price will vary depending on EXACT model (and there were dozens of different Lugers) its condition, and originality. Sorry that we can't give you a more precise answer, but this will require a "hands on" assessment by someone that knows Lugers. If you do not have a local gun shop that fits that description, check for guns shows in your area. There you have collectors and dealers gathered in one spot for your convenience.
