I work at Babyland General hospital and I can tell you that it depends on the shape the baby is in and if you have the papers or not.
you could wash them yourself by hand if you were carefull that's what i would do incase if you gave them to someone and they ruined them always do it yourself EDIT: Acutally, you should check out the official Cabbage Patch General Hospital at www.cabbagepatchkids.com They still make the original cloth dolls at the "hospital" in Clevland, GA, and while searching for a way to look up a doll's name I stumbled on their site and they had some information there about the original dolls and also a phone number you could call to get more information.
