yes, you need a license to operate any type of moped. But i think it would be a waste to get a moped lower than 50cc. i actually prefer 150cc becase it is not to much bigger and it goes 65mph instead of 35 for the 50cc.
Which is faster and how much faster ,50 cc or 150 cc
No, scooter insurance in quite a bit different than motorcycle insurance, and it is normally much cheaper too. This is because scooters do not have as much horsepower as a motorcycle and they are normally not driven on expressways.
No moped type vehicle would be legal to drive on a freeway. The minimum speed on freeways is 45 mph. Moped type vehicles will not run that fast. A much better and safer alternative is a motorcycle like the Honda Rebel. It is a 250 cc motorcycle that will get over 50 mpg and is large enough to be safely driven on a freeway. It is a much safer vehicle than a moped with it's small wheels. Go to any motorcycle dealer and look at what they have.

A 1970 50cc can sell for a high or low price depending on the particular model. It can sell for $2800, based on previous purchase prices.
A motor cycle is larger, for one. Motor bikes can also have pedals. There is no difference. In UK law, there are two classes of two wheel motorized vehicle: Moped (a vehicle not exceeding 50cc) and motorcycle. Motorbike is a slang term for motorcycle and used, along with the contracted form bike to describe, in general terms, any plastic fantastic, tupperware tornado or screaming Japanese crotch rocket. The US tend to raise the status of their iron horses to icon, and so motorcycle is much more fitting.
A 50cc moped typically uses a small amount of oil, often around 1 to 3 ounces per tank of fuel, depending on the oil-to-fuel ratio specified by the manufacturer. Most two-stroke mopeds require mixing oil with gasoline, usually at a ratio of 50:1 or 32:1. It's essential to check the owner's manual for the specific requirements of your moped to ensure optimal performance and engine health.
It all depends how much you plan to ride the bike. Most State laws require the rider to obtain the Insurance. For more information and resources on Motorcycle Insurance, check out http://www.findinsurance.us/motorcycle/motorcycle-home.html
