Nike has been accused of running sweatshops in third world countries since the 1970's. At various times, they have been said to use sweatshop labor in countries like China, South Korea and Taiwan. When these countries grew more skilled and organized labor unions, Nike shifted its focus to countries like Indonesia, the People's Republic of China and Vietnam, countries that banned labor unions.
Some of the disadvantages of working in a sweatshop are the fact that these people in third world countries work for up to 13-14 hours nonstop daily. These people accept low paying jobs because it is better than not getting paid at all, the average person in developed countries like where our houses are, do you really think that we would accept these extremely low paying jobs, not in this lifetime, we take all the really well paying jobs like lawyer, doctor, surgeon, etc.
Third world countries are calle third world countries because they ar very poor. I am sure that the people would love to be able to provide their families with the medical care and health management that other countries have but they would simply not be able to afford it! Some charities raise money to give proper health care to third world countries such as India and Africa.
they get money and get them clean water and food and make better schools and hosptality:)
