Horses and ponies are hugely expensive to keep. Not only does it cost anywhere between a few hundred to hundreds of thousands of pounds to buy a horse (depending on how well bred they are and etc) but they need to be stabled, fed, bedded down (straw/paper shreds/woodshavings), shod (horseshoes put on/feet trimmed), vaccinated, wormed, have the dentist come, and so much more. Averaging it up, i'd say I pay about 300 uk pounds a month for my horse and we keep everything at a minimun if possible. But remember, if something goes wrong with its health, it'll cost you thousands of pounds and not only that, but they take up a huge amount of your time, too! You can get more exact information on prices for keeping a horse on the british horse society website. :)
If you have your land and stables the price to keep a Welch pony at your home will be the cost of food for the horse. There may be fees for permits if your county has animal laws in place.
A monkey is £500, a pony is £25 and a grand is £1000.

A squirrel is not an amout of money. When someone says they need to 'squirrel away money', they mean they need to save or hard money. A pony is slang for 25 UK pounds.
If each of the pony's size and weight is the same the cost should be the same.
As in PONY up the dough- to give it (the money) to the intended recipient for services/products offered in exchange for the cash!
