Delta-8 THC (often referred to as "dro") is typically considered to be less potent than Delta-9 THC, which is the primary psychoactive compound found in regular cannabis. While individual potency can vary, Delta-8 THC is generally reported to have about 50-75% of the potency of Delta-9 THC. This means that users may require more of Delta-8 to achieve similar effects as those experienced with regular weed. However, the overall experience can differ due to variations in effects and side effects between the two cannabinoids.

You have been misinformed. The more alcohol, the more "potent" the drink, period. It may be that the particular drink mixed with 140 proof (70%) uses more liquor than the one made with 160 proof (80%). Either would be plenty potent, and would require a lot of mixer to mask the flavor of that much alcohol. If you meant 70 and 80 proof, the same remarks would apply except for the mixer.
