To make borax crystals, you typically mix 3 tablespoons of borax with 1 cup of very hot water. Stir until the borax is fully dissolved. Then, you can suspend a pipe cleaner or string in the solution and let it sit for 24 hours to allow the crystals to form.
Because hot water can dissolve more of the borax and it needs to be supersaturated so that when it cools it cannot hold as much borax in each molecule, so it releases some of the borax into it's natural repeating mineral shape.
Shape a pipe cleaner into a star. It's a good idea to leave one end long so you can hang the star in the crystal growing solution. Prepare a saturated borax solution by dissolving as much borax as possible into boiling hot water. You'll know you have a saturated solution when borax powder starts to accumulate on the bottom of the container. Stir in food coloring, if desired. Hang the star in a clean container (such as a coffee mug or glass) and pour the borax crystal growing solution into the container so that the star is covered. Try to avoid touching the star to the sides or bottom of the container. Crystals will grow on the star even if it is touching the container (which was the case with the star in the photo), but it is much harder to remove the star without damaging it. Allow the crystals to grow until are satisfied with them. This is usually anywhere from 2-10 hours. Remove the star and allow it to dry. The star may be stored wrapped in tissue paper, kept away from humidity.
It is recommended to use 1-2 cups of borax in a standard-sized bathtub filled with warm water for a soothing bath. Make sure to dissolve the borax completely in the water before getting in. Avoid using borax baths if you have sensitive skin or any skin conditions.
Borax acts as a cross-linking agent in slime, creating bonds between the polymer molecules in the glue and water mixture. This helps the slime to thicken and become stretchy. However, it's important to use borax in moderation, as too much can make the slime stiff or rubbery.
Typically, you can dissolve 4-6 tablespoons of borax in one liter of water for general cleaning purposes. It's important to ensure the borax is completely dissolved before use.
Borax is a material that grows into a crystal naturally. Just like snowflakes are crystals that form when warmer water in the clouds cools enough a borax solution will cool into crystals. The reason we use hot water to make borax crystals is because borax will disolve into water. Hot water can hold more borax than cold water can. So when the borax is stirred into the hot water until no more will fit, it is called supersaturated. As it cools, it cannot hold as much borax in each water molecule, so it realeases some of the borax into it's natural repeating mineral shape. It's just like a sugar crystal or a salt crystal. They will do the same thing as the borax when disolved in hot water, only they take a lot longer to crystalize. Try using 2 cups sugar and 1 cup boiling water. you can add a little food coloring and some flavoring oil. Be careful not to add too much. a drop or two of flavoring oil will be fine. Don't stand too close as fumes make come out of the mixture when adding the flavor. Put a bamboo skewer or a string, that has been stickified with some Corn Syrup and then rolled in regular granulated sugar and dried overnight, into a jar filled with the sugar dilute. you can put a paper towel or cheese cloth over it to keep the dust out. Leave it alone for a couple of months. You'll have a pretty cool treat that you can eat.
you take borax ( in the cleaning aisle ), water and glue to make goo. it doesnt matter how much of anything you put in. if you want wet, sloppy goo, you put in water, glue and very little borax. if you want just molding goo, put in water, glue, and a lot of borax

yes you can it is simply borax water tiny bit of flour not to much or that will clog it and warm water and food colouring if you like
"A while". You might get a more specific answer if you specified how much borax, how much water, and how warm, but I kind of doubt it because frankly this is not the sort of thing that people really keep track of. I suppose if you're in the borax industry you might have a general rule of thumb.

Dissolve as much of the solute into the solvent as possible. e.g the crystals into the water
3cups sugar for 1 cup water Ps the water has to be boiling
