During a lunar eclipse the half of the planet that is in night can see it because during that type of an eclipse the earth gets in between the sun and the moon and the reason the moon turns red is because earth's atmosphere bends some light and that light hits the moon

Why do more people see a total lunar eclipse then a tootle solar eclipse?

More people can see a total lunar eclipse than a total solar eclipse because to see the complete solar eclipse you must be in a locations directly underneath it so your point of view and angle of the moon is correct. It doesn't matter as much as to where you are for a lunar eclipse...

Sometimes there can be more solar eclipses or more lunar eclipses in a given year, but they're pretty even on average. What is the differe nce between and solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse?

A solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the Sun and the Earth which causes us to see a dark shadow in front of the Sun. A lunar ecplise is when the Earth is between the Sun and the moon. The Earth's shadow causes the moon to look red because of the Sun's color. Keep in mind that you must never look at a solar eclipse directly! Only you can look at a lunar ecplise. Hope this helped!

Distinguish between solar eclipse and lunar eclipse?

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes into the Earth's shadow and is blocked from the Sun's rays that normally illuminate it.A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes in front of the sun, blocking the Sun's rays from an area of the earth's surface.solar=Moon shades a small area of the Earth. You see it only in the daytime, at new moon.lunar=Earth shades a large area of the Moon, or the entire Moon. You see it at night, and only at the moment of full moon.

When is the next eclpise?

The next solar eclipse is on December 4, 2021, and it will be a total solar eclipse visible from Antarctica. The next lunar eclipse is on November 19, 2021, and it will be a partial lunar eclipse visible from much of the world.

How often can you expect to see an eclipse?

There are generally two solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses each year. A lunar eclipse happens when the shadow of the Earth falls on the Moon. Each lunar eclipse is visible from the entire night half of the Earth, so on average you will see one lunar eclipse per year, from wherever on Earth that you live. There are also two total solar eclipses per year, but the shadow of the Moon on the Earth is much smaller. So the average person will hardly ever see a solar eclipse, unless you travel to the place where the eclipse will happen. On average, you can expect a solar eclipse to happen where you live once every 58 years. If you would like to see when the next solar eclipse will happen where you live, the link below to the Solar Eclipse Calendar will be useful. To see all solar eclipses in the world, the "World Solar Eclipse" link will give you a map.

If you were on the moon during a lunar eclipse what kind of eclipse would you experience?

It would still be a lunar eclipse just on the moon and everything would be red. If you are on earth and a Lunar or a Solar eclipse happens than you are actually light than you would be regularly. To find out how much you weigh you take your weight and divide it by 1.5. So a lunar eclipse is just the same a lunar eclipse.

What is more common solar eclipse or moon eclipse?

Over a long period of time, there are exactly the same number of each. But if you stay in one place, you'll see more lunar eclipses than solar ones, because a lunar eclipse, when it happens, is visible over a much wider area.

Why are solar eclipses visible from a much smaller part of earth then lunar eclipse?

It's because of the relative sizes of the Sun, moon and Earth. the moon - being the smallest of the three - casts a small shadow - and thus a solar eclipse rarely lasts more than a few minutes. The shadow cast by the Earth in a lunar eclipse is much larger - and thus the lunar eclipse lasts much longer.
