Two ways... One refer to your owners' manual for the proper oil amount. TWO fill a little oil at a time and after each little bit check the dipstick or tank. When the oil has reached the full line, then you will know. Record how much oil it took to get there to make the process faster in the future.
Its always best to drain the oil from the old compressor and then add that same amount back to the new compressor but to be on the safe side add 4 ounces and prime it on the bench first...
If you are only changing the compressor, add 3 ounces into the suction port of the compressor before you attach hoses. After hoses are attached rotate the compressor by hand clockwise several turns to distribute the oil.
changing ac compressor only, how much oil do i add 2.7 Toyota tacoma 1999.... 6 ounces
Yes!
8oz.
If you only replaced the compressor, 2 to 3 ounces.
If the system didn't blow a hose and you are only replacing the compressor, I would add 3 ounces of oil to the new compressor through the suction port and turn the comp by hand several revolutions to pump it through.

You should not put any oil in a Ford air conditioning compressor. The air conditioning compressor runs on Freon. The system should take about one pound of Freon.
The oil is in the freon along w/leak detector.
Remove the compressor and pour it in. If its making noise its probably to late and you will need to replace it.
3 or 4 ounces.
