white rice, 1 cup water : 1 cup rice (10 mins)

brown rice, 2 cups water : 1 cup rice (50 mins covered, simmering, no peeking)

tip: brown rice, start boiling with 2 teaspoons soy sauce, when adding rice add grated carrots. In the end the carrots almost disappear, but leave a nice flavor)
