How much does a border patrol agent make in a year?

Last I heard it was about 35K, then again, others are saying 40K. I'm interested in joining myself. Also, you get a lot of over time and 10% of your pay if you work night and 25% if you work on Sundays.

It depends on their time in (Grade level). They are general law enforcement agents. Their pay grade depending on training, education, and experience, starts at one of three grades; GL-05, GL-07, or GL-09. They are given LEAP (Law Enforcement Aval Pay) = 25% of their base pay. They also promote to GL-12 agents on a non competative basis.

As a GL-12 with 10 years on, they make $100,000/yr+.

All those snide remarks from persons who have no clue to the problem, whether its a Mexican, Canadian, Asian or what like, border patrol agents aren't paid enough., for trying to keep the borders safe They have families, they need to come home to; we wouldn't have the problems, we do if illegals followed the law to come into the States properly. I'm tired of subsidizing the many criminals, their families and their ways, all in the excuse they are looking for a better life. Get real, I live within the laws and voted and paid for my freedoms. Those who do not, should pay with incarceration or deportation. I welcome those who entered this county for a better life, the proper way. The border patrol and the men and women who put their lives on the line should be applauded not chastised.
