Cost me $50 for both sides. Bought the bearings off eBay and replaced them myself.
Could be a wheel bearing, brake pads worn,
Could be a long list of things; Noisy when clutch pressed Pulsating pedal with engine running Difficult to ingage gears Slipping clutch or harsh vibrations The thrust bearing, and fork, should be replaced when the clutch is replaced. Bearing Slide and Fly wheel should be inspected and replaced if need be.
The front wheel bearing assembly is not repairable. A new wheel bearing assembly is replaced as a complete unit. Your local auto parts store can supply you with a new bearing assembly.
THE BEARING ASSEMBLY IS NOT REMOVABLE FROM the hub. It's replaced as a unit.
The speed sensor is located inside the Wheel Bearing Assembly, and cannot be replaced separate from the Wheel Bearing Assy.
Assuming that the wheel does not have a stuck brake then the wheel bearing is froze. The wheel might break free by rocking the trailer front and back but probably the wheel will have to be removed and the bearing will need to be replaced.
You need to have a wheel press. Other than that it's self explanitory.
I just replaced a wheel bearing in my, 03 protege 5 it was $60 for the part and $60 for the mechanic to press it in.
A whinig or howling sound coming from a cars wheels means that a wheel bearing is bad and should be replaced.
If any one of your wheel bearings are damaged or wearing then they should be repaired or replaced before anything bad happens.
A HUMMING SOUND CAN BE A BAD WHEEL BEARING.(YOU WOULD HEAR THIS AT ANY SPEED AND ANY ROAD SURFACE) Our '03 Vue hummed also. Replaced the rear wheel bearing/hub assembly...40,000 miles! My 03 Vue had a bad carrier bearing...The drive shaft is a two part design...and where the two meet is a bearing ...when mine started acting up it sounded like the rear wheel bearing..It's not easy to change you need a bearing press...
