Actually while they hibernate - nothing. You can't put on weight when you're not eating or drinking.
On the contrary, even if they require less energy while hibernating, bears lose a lot of weigh while in hibernation.
Not having gotten fat enough Before Winter is a regular cause of Death for bears.
fatten up and stuff
Bears put on body fat during the spring, summer and autumn. They live on this stored fat while hibernating in caves (or dens between boulders) during winter. They hibernate because there is little food (berries, etc) in winter. Pregnant females give birth during hibernation.
Ferrets do not hibernateSdresh is correct, they do not hibernate. They do become less active in the winter months though. Then again, so do I.No. Ferrets have no need to hibernate in winter. Instead of hibernating in winter ferrets will grow a thicker coat, eat more, put on weight and begin to sleep more.
== == Most bears prepare for hibernation by eating a lot. They gain a lot of weight to sustain lowered metabolic function and minimal function of organs like the heart and breathing during hibernation.
I dont think you can put a number on this.
They put most of their weight on their forlimbs. Im still wondering how much weight that they acually put on their legs though. There must be a lot of math to do with it though.
my thinkpad T61 laptop refuses to hibernate with majicjack plugged in.
It depends on how much you eat. I put on 2 kilos this week
None.

Its better to put it to sleep
Depends how much weight you put.
