About 1 hours labor, plus the water pump and any coolant needed. That is of course there are no problems.
if a dodge neon would race a crown Victoria the neon would start of faster but after a while the power of a v8 engine the neon will get left behind the crown Victoria has great acceleration
It would be helpful if you can explain the " won't start " Does the engine turn? If it turns does not fire? Was it running before?
No, the 1983 - 1992 Crown Victorias used the AOD transmission and the 1993-1994 Crown Victorias used the AODE transmission, so they would be different. Sorry!

The inertia switch is generally located in the trunk. The purpose of it is to shut off the current to the fuel pump in case of an accident. It can be reset and very seldom has to be replaced.
I would assume the 1997 Ford Explorer is heavier than the 1998 Ford Crown Victoria ( especially if the Explorer is 4X4 or AWD or has the 5.0 liter V8 )
