If I am not mistaken, it is not a 'team' or a group that updates Wikipedia, but volunteers that send them the information they wrote. However, on average these volunteers may be sending info every 5 seconds, every 20 seconds, every 5 minutes, or every hour. We will never know.
The Wikipedia copy on Answers.com comes from a "dump" of the Wikipedia database. At the time of the dump it contains all the English entries of Wikipedia. Since Wikipedia grows all the time, the Answers.com copy quickly becomes outdated. Therefore it's fair to assume that the most recent entries [and edits] on Wikipedia are not in the Answers.com copy.
One big advantage of wikipedia over regular encyclopedias is that some live events (like the Olympics) get updated very quick. You often find the result of a game minutes after it finishes.
